a speech by jfk on the separation of church and state which Rick Santorum said "makes him want to puke". jfk basically says that inclusivity is preferable to exclusivity in a society. You should not be persecuted for your religious views but at the same time our legislation should be based upon reason, evidence and the constitution.. not by imposing subjective interpretation of a religious doctrine upon all regardless of objective reasoning. Our religious views are best kept private and not entangled with government legislation alienating portions of the public. That's not to say religious groups can't assemble on their own and publicly display their pride in their faith.. the government just does better not to endorse a particular faith. Sounds fair to me.
